problem - Students were tasked with ideating and designing a hypothetical tourism campaign for the popular Milwaukee tourism company VISIT Milwaukee. Deliverables included print poster designs and guerilla marketing concepts for their proposed campaign angle.
solution - Since moving to the city of Milwaukee, I decided to focus on the many strange attractions and activities that I was made aware of from new friends and family who were local to the area. Many of the common topics highlighted within the city of Milwaukee focus on the local drinking culture, popular sporting teams, and well-known natural landmarks. Instead of centering my campaign on one of these topics, I wanted to zero in on the lesser-known but equally enticing attractions that one could only find while in this great city. Luchador wrestling, museums filled with bobbleheads, and live polka music are the uncanny events and businesses that keep the heart of this special city alive and well, and they deserve recognition for it.
