client - RW Apartments
role - B&Co. Graphic Design Intern
involvement - Brand Book Design / Iconography Design / Brand Activation
project background - Facilitated through my internship at B&Co. I was brought on to the active project to assist in creating the brand book and developing secondary iconography for the locally owned new development in the Riverwest neighborhood of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The logo suite, color palette, and branded copy were created before my involvement in the project, but I was designated to assist in designing the layouts, typography, and supporting iconography for the brand. When designing the iconography, I focused on creating a set of organic and strong icons representative of the brand pillars. The form of each icon references well-known shapes such as a dove, bridge, helmet, and leaf, but are ambiguous in nature, allowing each individual resident or member of the community to make their own personal connections to the icons. Each icon works individually for the activation of specific pillars and grouped to amplify the brand that is centered around connecting the Riverwest community to the surrounding neighborhoods and residents. Proving that the strength in the branding comes from its ability to bring people together in their way of life.
